Many anxious people have an underlying fear of losing control, even for a moment (which explains why some people find it so difficult to accept the need for relaxation). Psychological support, either through self-help groups or from a professional therapist, can be helpful at this time to help you understand what is going on and also to learn new ways of coping without going back to the drugs.
